I came into the Rice Tapia Camp as a quiet, reserved student who didn't enjoy being outgoing. Since having gone to the camp, and through the classes and lectures, I have learned a lot that serves as groundwork for the tough senior classes I am in now. Furthermore, I have learned to effectively convey and share my ideas to audiences without my usual whisper-level of speaking. The Rice Tapia Camp gave me connections I never would have made before, gave me a deeper understanding of STEM concepts, and both gave me the ability to, as well as taught me how to effectively say STEM .
