Tapia Camp was a major factor in my decision to be a STEM major. The team projects and guidance from university students gave me my first introduction to the work environment in college classes, eventually persuading me to actually enjoy the challenge of more difficult courses. I also apply many of the skills I learned at the camp, such as effective public speaking and teamwork, in many of my classes in college. In addition, the camp was my first exposure to Rice University, and remembering how it felt back then makes me all the more excited to now be a student here. Overall, Tapia Camp was an invaluable experience that I will always be grateful for.
